ScrapKins Hands-On Projects

We know it's hard to introduce the subject of healthy choices to kids (cue eye rolling and blank stares)! So, we think you'll be amazed to see how much more receptive kids are to new conversations when the right and left sides of the brain are engaged by hands-on recycled art projects.

Whole Kids Foundation is proud to partner with ScrapKins creator Brian Yanish, an art educator and former member of Jim Henson's creative team, to bring you new projects and conversation starters every month.

Brian drew the ScrapKins cast of characters when he was young, his mom saved the drawings, and today they are a tribe of friends who live in a recycling yard and teach children how to reuse common household materials to explore creativity. Each month we'll also provide a set of "Think About Questions" to get parents and kids talking about good food. For more information about The ScrapKins visit scrapkins.com.
