An understanding of how food connects family came to me at an early age when I spent summers with my grandma in East Texas. We cooked, laughed, and cooked some more. Not only did she teach me how to cook, but most importantly, she showed me how lovingly prepared meals have the power to nurture and bring family and friends together. I learned early on that cooking was a gift of love for those you care about. 

These days, I cook a bit differently than my grandma – veggies are always center of the plate – but her lessons run deep and my greatest pleasure is cooking fresh, healthy meals for family and friends. 

Before coming to Whole Foods Market, I was a daily newspaper journalist and then decided to follow my love of food into a professional career – initially managing cooking schools and then working in PR and marketing in grocery retail. I came to Whole Foods Market because I loved the mission focus and the commitment to selling the best foods available. 

After a dozen years with Whole Foods Market working in marketing and public relations, I wanted to dive even deeper into our mission and use my skills and passion to support other families coming together to explore and enjoy delicious, healthy foods. Whole Kids Foundation has allowed me to do just that!
