Growing up in Amman, Jordan with a Mexican mother and Circassian father, our dinner table was always a fiesta of different flavors, textures and ingredients. We moved to California when I was 5, and my sister and I loved watching my mother recreate traditional Mexican meals with her special Jordanian flare.
Academically, I developed interests in digital storytelling and user experience design. After earning a degree in Media Studies from UC Berkeley, my professional and personal interests converged and I worked for several years in food marketing, from food photography to designing and implementing national retail marketing campaigns.
After being diagnosed with an auto-immune disease, I decided that I wanted to use the technical tools I learned for a greater purpose, and shifted my focus to sharing the stories of underserved communities and their experiences with food. At Whole Kids Foundation, I’m able to blend digital strategy and user experience, channeling them into one broader social mission of helping kids and their families.See All Bios
