Salad Bars to Schools Celebrates 5,000 Salad Bars!

Virginia’s First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe and national school food leaders celebrated the milestone of 5,000 salad bars granted to schools through Salad Bars to Schools, a public private partnership formed seven years ago to improve children’s access to fresh and healthy food.

We believe the more children know about and feel connected to food, the more curious they become about how things grow and taste — and the more willing they are to try new foods. It takes a village to give children these opportunities and ultimately change the future of their health.
