My name is Toby T. Johnson. I’m an athlete, a coach and a healthy eater. I’m very excited to be partnering with Whole Kids Foundation and doing my part in changing the future of children’s health. I’m a huge believer that nutrition education can be far more effective than solving a health crisis, which is why I identify so closely with Whole Kids Foundation’s work.

I appreciate the simplicity of the Foundation. Real food, real gardens, real education. It took me a bit of time to find an organization that spoke to my passion. But, as soon as I found Whole Kids, I knew I wanted to do my part and set a goal to raise $1,000,000 for such a good cause from others that believe that kids will make healthy choices if given the right environment and opportunity. Kids need to have greater access to fruits and vegetables and learn how it grows and where it comes from.

To raise awareness, I will participate in numerous Obstacle Course Races (OCR’s) across the country. These endurance courses test body, mind & spirit—AND you get really muddy—even dirtier than a class of 3rd graders digging up sweet potatoes that were grown from the seeds that they plant!

This will be an epic road trip that will take me to 80 cities over 125 days, with 20,000 miles of driving. You can follow my journey here. Above all, I will participate in 33 events and run more than 450 miles! Along my journey, I will connect with fitness friends and CrossFit gyms to train and spread the word about good nutrition for children and adults.

I’d like to think I’m a fairly self-motivated person. Yet the more support I get, the more I can achieve. I’m the kind of person that likes to work hard and accomplish all I possibly can every day. I want that to be infectious – from inspiring people to live healthier lives to helping kids connect to the root of real food. Changing habits is challenging but not impossible. If we set our goals high then there’s no reason we can’t make changes for the better!

To follow my journey and support my aim of giving more children a healthier future, please visit my website and consider making a donation to Whole Kids Foundation through my digital campaign. Your kindness will be rewarded with more children understanding that the good food they eat will fuel their bodies and minds so they can grow and excel in life.
