Whole Foods Market Offers $1 Million Donation Match for Annual Fundraising Campaign
Here’s the great news:
Between September 3 and 17, 2019, Whole Foods Market will double your donation at the register matching up to $1 million.
Your dollars go twice as far!

Whole Foods Market’s purpose is to nourish people and the planet, and its commitment to healthy eating goes far beyond selling groceries.

Before founding Whole Kids Foundation, Whole Foods Market stores across the country had established relationships with many local schools, ranging from helping plant school gardens and providing salad bars to hosting educational store tours and visiting classrooms – all efforts to improve children’s nutrition and wellness.

So, establishing a nonprofit dedicated to these efforts and guided by the same values and principles was a natural extension of Whole Foods Market’s commitment and community outreach. Whole Kids Foundation was born in 2011 from a continued desire and investment to improve children’s nutrition.

Eight years down the road, Whole Kids Foundation has helped 7.2 million children learn what real food is through school salad bars, edible gardens and educational beehives.

Whole Foods Market continues its commitment to our kids, schools and communities by covering all of our foundation’s operational costs. So, 100 percent of every dollar you donate to Whole Kids Foundation directly supports our nutrition and wellness programs. This means we can put your dollars right to work in local schools.

Through our grants, there are 11,711 schools that now have school gardens, salad bars and educational beehives. But we have hundreds more schools that have asked for our help. Which is where you come in…. here are a few ways you can help:

  1. Donate Online Today: Help us make a meaningful impact on local schools and communities by donating to the Growing Healthy Kids campaign.
  2. Shop Whole Foods Market & Double Your Donation: Shop at any location between 9/3 – 9/17, make a register donation and Whole Foods Market will double it!
  3. Apply for a Garden or Bee Grant. If you’re with a school or nonprofit looking to turn an outdoor space into a powerful hands-on learning opportunity, now is the time to apply for a grant. We are accepting both garden and bee grant applications from September 1 to October 15, 2019. Learn more. Applications for salad bars are accepted year-round.

On behalf of the millions of kids that have fresh salads for lunch at school, are growing their own veggies in school gardens and are learning how important bees are to our food eco-system – thank you Whole Foods Market for believing our kids will make healthy choices if we give them healthy choices.

Please join us, Whole Foods Market and our generous sponsors to bring healthy to a school near you.
